Even though the IMater Charter Knights have not done well against the Goleman Gators recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. IMater Charter took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 76-48 victory over Goleman. The victory was familiar territory for iMater Charter who now have three in a row.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Acevedo, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Nicholas Ewing was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds and four steals.
The victory got iMater Charter back to even at 4-4. As for Goleman, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IMater Charter will challenge American at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully American focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Goleman and Hialeah-Miami Lakes will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hialeah-Miami Lakes comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
