The Durant Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Memorial. While losing is never fun, Durant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Memorial is ranked 46th).
It was another big night for Jalil Cotton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds for Memorial. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Harris, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Durant bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Memorial, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Durant will head out on the road to square off against Will Rogers College at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Will Rogers College focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday. Memorial's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lincoln Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th.
