Ridgecroft is 0-8 against Halifax Academy since March of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Ridgecroft will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Ridgecroft is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Hertford County an 18-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Evi Watson and Lacey Berryman made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Watson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Berryman pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Watson scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Berryman went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Katie Vaughan was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Callie Liverman was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Ridgecroft was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Halifax Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Rocky Mount Academy on Thursday.
Payton Odom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits.
On the hitting side, Scarlett Harris was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Barlow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Ridgecroft's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Halifax Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-8-1.
Halifax Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ridgecroft has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. It's a different story for Halifax Academy, though, as they've only averaged .338. Will they be able to contain Ridgecroft's hitters?
