The St. Lawrence Central Larries had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 52-21 win over Salmon River on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-9.
Leading St. Lawrence Central to victory were Austin Mason and Damien Ashley. Mason scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals, while Ashley scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Lashomb-Tessier, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
St. Lawrence Central's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Salmon River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
St. Lawrence Central will head out on the road to face off against Brushton-Moira at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Salmon River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
