Rutland faced Middlebury in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Middlebury were completely outmatched, falling 7-42 to Rutland. The state rankings had actually given Middlebury a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The defeat dropped Middlebury's record to 2-3. The win bumped Rutland's record up to 4-1.
Next week Middlebury take on Burr & Burton at 7:00 PM. As for Rutland, they will face off against Rice Memorial.
