Lake Mead Academy is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Pershing County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lake Mead Academy Eagles will take on the Pershing County Mustangs at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Lake Mead Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Incline 58-0 at home. Lake Mead Academy pushed the score to 55-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Incline had no chance of recovering from.
Lake Mead Academy found their leader in underclassman Jerry Meyer iii, who threw for 238 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 95% of his passes. Meyer iii is absolutely dominating the passing touchdown category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Antonio Spann, who picked up 94 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Pershing County got themselves on the board against Lincoln County on Saturday, but Lincoln County never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Lynx as they made off with a 20-0 victory.
Their wins bumped Lake Mead Academy to 9-1 and Pershing County to 9-3.
