They really took it to Stanton for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-31 victory at home. With that victory, West Point-Beemer brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
West Point-Beemer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter Swanson out in front who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Swanson has scored at least 25% of West Point-Beemer's points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Penrose, who scored 15 points.
Stanton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Barrett Wilke, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, and Tanner Simmerman who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds. The game was Wilke's third in a row with at least ten points.
West Point-Beemer now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Stanton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
West Point-Beemer will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Bend Central at 7:00 p.m. North Bend Central has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Stanton, they will head out on the road to face off against Norfolk Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Norfolk Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
