Lafayette extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 8 this week by beating Tates Creek, 28-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Madison Central took down Clark 50-18 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lafayette's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Garrett Peavler threw for 218 and two touchdowns and Tranard Chester had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Kylan Nelson chipped in 156 yards. Darius Hughes helped Lafayette's passing attack out by catching four balls for 70 yards.
Lafayette's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Generals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Peavler has thrown for 2187 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Chester has 31 catches for 603 yards. Nelson leads the league in rushing with 1012 yards.
The Commodores made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,890 from 5,122. The advance stemmed from a 28-14 victory over Tates Creek last week.
