Basketball Recap: Goldsboro Skates Past Beddingfield with Ease

Goldsboro won the last time they faced Beddingfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Goldsboro Cougars took their match with ease, bagging a 75-34 win over the Beddingfield Bruins. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Goldsboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aziyah Boyer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. The game was Boyer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Hayden Davis also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Goldsboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beddingfield only posted nine assists.

Despite the defeat, Beddingfield had strong showings from Natasha Marshall, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists, and Sa'Naiya Coppedge, who posted ten points. That was a full 35.3% of Beddingfield's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Aycock, who earned eight points.

Goldsboro is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Beddingfield, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Goldsboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-8 victory against Princeton on the 17th. Beddingfield has also already played their next game, a 44-20 defeat against North Johnston on the 17th.
