On Friday, The Johnson Warriors got themselves on the board against the Florin Panthers, but the Florin Panthers never followed suit. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 47-0 win over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for Johnson, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Johnson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamarea Smith led the charge by throwing for 233 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Kirk Brown III, who gained 142 total yards and three touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Florin to a paltry 97 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Johnson's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out nine times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Chad Whitehead and Gabe Castro who racked up four sacks between them.
Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Florin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Johnson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Florin is also done with their season.
