The Lewisville Lions are still undefeated this season after their game against the Central Eagles on Wednesday, but the Central Eagles came as close as anyone has to beating them. Lewisville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Central 49-47. Given Lewisville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Central is ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Edmond, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dwayne Louallen was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Lewisville has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Central, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-6 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Lewisville will head out on the road to face off against Buford at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Buford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Wednesday. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
