After a string of four wins, the Boone Grove Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Morgan Township at home by a decisive 60-45 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boone Grove in their matchups with Morgan Township: they've now lost four in a row.
Boone Grove lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hunter Noonan, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Dixon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Morgan Township got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Wheeler out in front who scored 18 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wheeler has scored at least 25% of Morgan Township's points. Another player making a difference was Keagen Holder, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
Boone Grove now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Morgan Township, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boone Grove will take on South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (South Central is ranked 333rd, while Boone Grove is ranked 342nd). As for Morgan Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Township at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-Township is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
