Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Constitution). They blew past the Frankford Pioneers 94-56 on Friday. The Generals haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Alantay Dawson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, as he made all 8 shots he took to post 22 points along with six assists and three steals. That's the most assists he has posted since back in December of 2024. Nick Young was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine boards.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Constitution was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Frankford's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Doron Ross, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 19 points and five rebounds, and Kasir Hawes, who put up 16 points and five boards. Hawes continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last six games he's played. Julian Colon also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Constitution's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Frankford, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-15.
Constitution wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-53 win against Paul Robeson on the 11th. After both having extra time off, Frankford and Thomas A. Edison will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 3:15 p.m. on February 19th. One thing working in Thomas A. Edison's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
