Basketball Recap: Antelope's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Antelope was riding high fresh off their 77-28 takedown of Cordova last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Antelope Titans fell just short of the Grant Pacers by a score of 58-55 on Wednesday. The Titans have struggled against the Pacers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Antelope saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ezrah Kaheaku went 8 of 16 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Those 21 points gave Kaheaku a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malichai Brown, who posted eight points along with eight assists and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Antelope smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Antelope's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Grant, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Antelope is taking a road trip to face off against Destiny Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Antelope's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Grant, they will welcome McClatchy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McClatchy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.8 points per game this season.
