Rich Township is 8-2 against Bloom since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The pair will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rich Township will be strutting in after a win while Bloom will be coming in after a defeat.
Rich Township had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against St. Laurence by a score of 52-39.
Rich Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sherrie Emmons, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Emmons has scored at least 25% of Rich Township's points. E'Mani Spencer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 64 points the game before, Bloom were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a serious blow against Lincoln-Way East, falling 68-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bloom has scored all season.
Rich Township's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Bloom, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Rich Township was able to grind out a solid victory over Bloom in their previous meeting back in February, winning 39-30. Will Rich Township repeat their success, or does Bloom have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
