The Eastside Lions will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Lancaster Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Eastside will be strutting in after a win while Lancaster will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Legacy Christian Academy scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, Eastside still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Eastside made off with a 57-56 victory over Legacy Christian Academy.
Eastside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malachi Garvin led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaden Carter, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lancaster unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Golden Valley. Lancaster has not had much luck with Golden Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Eastside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-16 record this season. As for Lancaster, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Eastside and Lancaster were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Eastside came up empty-handed after a 40-39 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lancaster's Abayomi Suulola, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Now that Eastside knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
