The Bloomfield Bobcats will head out to take on the Miyamura Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bloomfield will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Kirtland Central on Tuesday. The Bobcats blew past the Broncos 16-8. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won seven in a row.

Johnny Yates and Gavin Pecotte did most of the damage at the plate: Yates fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Pecotte went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two home runs gave Yates a new career-high. Blake Spencer was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Miyamura made sure to put some runs up on the board against Shiprock on Tuesday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 13-1 victory.
Brady Antonio and Xavier Brown made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Antonio struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Brown pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Antonio has become a key player for Miyamura: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 8-10 otherwise. At the plate, Antonio went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Brown went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Shane Escajeda was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Miyamura's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Caraveo, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Miyamura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Bloomfield pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Miyamura, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Bloomfield took their victory against Miyamura in their previous matchup last Saturday by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
