After flying high against Williamsport last Wednesday, Altoona came back down to earth. The Altoona Mountain Lions lost 3-0 to the DuBois Beavers on Tuesday. While Altoona ultimately came up short, they really made DuBois work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 27-25, 25-23.
Despite the loss, Altoona still got an impressive performance from Karinna Wolfe, who had ten digs and four aces. Wolfe is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Altoona has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for DuBois, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1-1.
Altoona will square off against State College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DuBois does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
