The Cottonwood Colts will head out on the road to take on the Stansbury Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cottonwood is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.
Last Wednesday, Cottonwood beat Hillcrest 59-51.
Peter Oguama was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Christopher Cox was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stansbury pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Jordan by a score of 60-57. The match was a 30-30 toss-up at halftime, but Stansbury couldn't quite close it out.
Cottonwood pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Stansbury, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
Cottonwood strolled past Stansbury when the teams last played back in January by a score of 79-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cottonwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
