The Clyde Fliers struggled with threes on Saturday (the Sandusky Blue Streaks had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Clyde received a tough blow as they fell 69-52 to the Blue Streaks. If Clyde was looking for revenge after losing 74-59 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Clyde lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aubrey Sengstock, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sengstock has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Taitum Jeffrey, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Mae Rameau was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-6 from long range and dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 steals for Sandusky. Rameau is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last four games she's played. Ra'kiya Collier was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Clyde's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Sandusky, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clyde will take on the Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Columbian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Sandusky, they will be playing at home against the Redmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bellevue is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
