The Bainbridge Bearcats waltzed into Friday's matchup with six straight wins but they left with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cairo 56-6 at home. Bainbridge might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by 27 points or more this season.
Bainbridge had a senior duo take command as Cam Sanders threw for 295 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes and Antavious Murphy picked up 187 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Murphy's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Another player making a difference was Keenan Phillips, who gained 65 total yards and two touchdowns.
Bainbridge's victory was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-3 Ware County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60% over those games). As for Cairo, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bainbridge will take on Trinity Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Bainbridge is ranked 28th). As for Cairo, they will be playing at home against Troup County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
