Even though the Windsor Academy Knights scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, the Trinity Christian Crusaders still came out on top. Trinity Christian enjoyed a cozy 76-57 victory over Windsor Academy. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Windsor Academy is ranked 479th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Clay, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Clay grabbed two or more steals. Lincoln Harper was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Windsor Academy still got an impressive performance from Reed Barr, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landen Locke, who scored 13 points.
Trinity Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Windsor Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Gatewood at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Gatewood's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Windsor Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Covenant Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
