Brecksville-Broadview Heights is a perfect 3-0 against Solon since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bees will be playing in front of their home fans against the Comets at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brecksville-Broadview Heights has nine straight victories, Solon has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Brecksville-Broadview Heights beats Solon with 14 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bees put the hurt on Hudson with a sharp 14-2 win on Wednesday. The Bees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Rowan Weber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

Twinsburg hit Solon with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Comets have lost by just one run.
Grace Gerhard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Chesla, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights' victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Solon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Solon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brecksville-Broadview Heights has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Solon, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Brecksville-Broadview Heights' sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights took their victory against Solon when the teams last played on April 4th by a conclusive 13-2 score. Will the Bees repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
