Garden Spot is 1-6 against Solanco since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Garden Spot Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Solanco Golden Mules at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Garden Spot is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Solanco in Pennsylvania (Garden Spot is ranked 91st, while Solanco is ranked 265th).
Garden Spot put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Elizabethtown with a sharp 24-3 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Garden Spot.
It was another big night for Kye Harting, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Solanco pushed their score all the way to 41 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Fleetwood by a score of 44-41.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Johnny Garcia, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kris Burgos-wise, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Garden Spot's win lifted them to 8-1 while Solanco's defeat dropped them down to 3-6.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Garden Spot has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Solanco struggles in that department as they've been even better at 309.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Garden Spot lost to Solanco at home by a decisive 35-20 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Garden Spot have more luck at home instead of on the road?
