It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Palmetto Panthers can now relate to. They took a 19-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Friday. It was the first time this season that Palmetto let down their fans at home.
Koby Howard was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 80 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Davi Belfort, who rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Western, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Western will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Columbus: 10.8, Western: 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
