Valencia has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Silver Fighting Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Valencia lost to Grants at home by a decisive 35-21 margin.
Valencia's loss came about despite a quality game from Isaiah Rodriguez, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Even if they lost, Valencia's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Aiden Gonzalez and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Silver put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past St. Pius X, posting a 46-0 victory on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Silver.
It was another big night for Adan Jacquez, who threw for 263 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Julian Richard was in the mix too, providing Silver with three touchdowns.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Grants' win pushed their record up to 5-4, while Valencia's defeat dropped theirs down to 4-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Valencia has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 201.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Silver struggles in that department as they've been averaging 150.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Valencia came up short against Silver when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 13-0. Can Valencia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
