Volleyball Recap: Monarch Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Monarch came into Thursday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Cristo Rey Coyotes on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Royals not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 3-0).

While Monarch won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-6, 25-23.

Monarch's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cristo Rey, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 5-14 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monarch is set to square off against their familiar foe High Tech CV at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cristo Rey will challenge rival High Tech NC at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
