After a string of five wins, the Chattanooga Prep Sentinels's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 59-52 to Christian Heritage. While losing is never fun, Chattanooga Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 111th in Tennessee, while Christian Heritage is ranked 27th in Georgia).
Despite the loss, Chattanooga Prep saw an underclassman step up: Derrick Roberson scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Ta'Suade Williams was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Chattanooga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Christian Heritage, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattanooga Prep will take on West Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Creek is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Christian Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowdon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowdon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
