The Medina Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wilson Lakemen at 6:30 p.m. Medina will be strutting in after a win while Wilson will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Barker scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Medina still came out on top. Medina managed a 59-55 win over Barker. The win made it back-to-back wins for Medina.
Medina can attribute much of their success to Jerrell Nealy, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds, and Christian Moss, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Nealy has scored at least a third of Medina's points. Another player making a difference was Cole Callard, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Wilson opened the new year with a less-than-successful 67-54 defeat to Newfane.
Medina's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Wilson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.
