The Neighborhood House Charter Legends waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 75-64 win over Prospect Hill Academy. Neighborhood House Charter's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Neighborhood House Charter was led to victory by Juelz McGhee and Tavon Rhodes. McGhee scored 24 points along with five steals and four blocks, while Rhodes scored 44 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Rhodes has scored at least a third of Neighborhood House Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Fletcher, who scored three points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Neighborhood House Charter's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Prospect Hill Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neighborhood House Charter will take on St. John Paul II at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. St. John Paul II is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Prospect Hill Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Innovation Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Innovation Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Prospect Hill Academy likes a good challenge.
