Meanwhile, JW North was beaten by Rancho Verde 49-21 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 234th).
Paloma Valley will need to focus on slowing down DeNavyah Garcia, one of several JW North players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 80 yards and one score.
This is the second loss in a row for Paloma Valley and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.5 points over those games. As for JW North, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Paloma Valley has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 273.5 passing yards per game. It's a different story for JW North, though, as they've been averaging only 84.8 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Paloma Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over JW North when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 29-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
