Douglas is 8-2 against Carson since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Douglas Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carson Senators at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Douglas pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Damonte Ranch. While losing is never fun, Douglas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Damonte Ranch is ranked seventh).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jett Lehmann, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Thacker, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Carson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 12th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Bishop Manogue at home and fell 64-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Carson has scored all season.
Douglas has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Carson, their defeat was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-20.
Everything came up roses for Douglas against Carson when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 72-37 victory. With Douglas ahead 36-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
