It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of Christ Church Episcopal. Ridge Spring-Monetta's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it six in a row.
It was another big night for Dashun Reeder, who rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Reeder was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Jackson Repp was in the mix too, providing Christ Church Episcopal with two touchdowns.
Christ Church Episcopal's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Cooper Hronchek and his two sacks.
Ridge Spring-Monetta bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Christ Church Episcopal, Wagener-Salley, and Blackville-Hilda. As for Christ Church Episcopal, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Ridge Spring-Monetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Christ Church Episcopal will be playing at home against McBee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McBee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
