Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amory). They enjoyed a cozy 52-35 victory over the Ripley Tigers on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Amory's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17. As for Ripley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.
Amory and Ripley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. Amory will take on Mooreville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 109 places (217 vs. 108). Amory is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Meanwhile, Ripley (ranked 232nd) will meet Alcorn Central (ranked 85th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
