Baseball Recap: Newcastle Has No Trouble Against Madill

After only one run in their last matchup, Newcastle made sure to put some runs up on the board against Madill on Monday. Newcastle was the clear victor by a 19-3 margin over Madill. The Racers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Sheamus McLaughlin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Taj Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Newcastle's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Madill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newcastle will head out to take on Duncan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madill, they will venture away from home to square off against Mount St. Mary at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
