Baseball Game Preview: Ingram Moore Warriors vs. Lanier Voks

The Ingram Moore Warriors will head out to square off against the Lanier Voks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ingram Moore will be strutting in after a win while Lanier will be coming in after a loss.

While Ingram Moore's victory against Randolph wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Ro-Hawks 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 25, 2025.

Cohen Keith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Keith was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Ingram Moore's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Keith wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joe Zabala, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Zabala has posted since back in March of 2025. Braedyn Syfert was another, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Lanier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to Harlandale.

Jordan Perez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Freddy Gonzales also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ingram Moore has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Lanier, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
