Baseball Recap: Caro Wins Going Away Against Millington

Caro had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Millington on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Cardinals 9-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Xander Grice made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last four contests. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Grice wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Grice, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Caro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Millington, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7-1.

Caro will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
