It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Anson Tigers can now relate to. They fell just short of Sonora by a score of 29-27. Anson's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Sonora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaime Buitron, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Deluna, who gained 108 total yards and a touchdown.
Anson now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Sonora, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
