When it comes to explaining why Sand Rock lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katelyn St.Clair. Despite the final result, she scored 27 points along with five steals. The match was St.Clair's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Zoey Handy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Sand Rock's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5. As for Bath County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Sand Rock will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bartram Trail at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Bartram Trail is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Bath County will finish 2023 at home by hosting Father Ryan on Saturday. Father Ryan will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
