The Vela Sabercats had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 93-14 victory over Valley View. Vela's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Janai Coleman, who scored 31 points along with five steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Vela's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gg Betancourt, who scored 15 points along with five assists and four steals.
Vela is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Valley View, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Vela will head out on the road to face off against Rowe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley View will be home for the holidays to greet Sharyland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sharyland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 on Friday.
