The Centennial Eagles will challenge the Vero Beach Indians at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Centennial: 1.5, Vero Beach: 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Centennial came out on top in a nail-biter against Calvary Christian Academy, sneaking past 2-1.

Michael DiDonato spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Centennial is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Nathaniel Rodriguez and Yohalberth Romero did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Romero scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Vero Beach put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Central a 12-0 shutout. With that win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Vero Beach got a big performance out of Caleb Wood, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Romans, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Vero Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Vero Beach's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Centennial has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Vero Beach struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Centennial came up short against Vero Beach in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Will Centennial have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
