AISA AAA Region 1 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Tuscaloosa Academy extended the longest winning streak in AISA AAA Region 1 this week by beating Escambia Academy, 28-8. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Knights.
Lee-Scott Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,181 from 3,512. The improvement was the result of 45-6 victory over Hooper Academy last week.
Kingwood Christian's Gavin Sumrall and Montex Haynes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sumrall has thrown for 456 yards this season, while Haynes, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 11 catches for 255 yards. Holt Ingalls from the Warriors leads the league in rushing with 253 yards.
Lee-Scott Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on the Colts.
