If the Southside Christian Warriors were riding high off their 56-10 takedown of the Spirit of Life Christian Academy Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southside Christian was beaten by Neuse Charter 52-20 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, Southside Christian couldn't push the score so high this time.
It was another big night for Chloe Kozloff, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals for Neuse Charter. Kozloff hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Johnson, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and nine steals.
Southside Christian's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Neuse Charter, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Southside Christian will head out on the road to square off against Living Water Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Neuse Charter, they will play host again and welcome North Duplin, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Duplin is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
