The Jurupa Hills Spartans will head out to face off against the King Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Jurupa Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Jurupa Hills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carter, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Aaden Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Jurupa Hills let Matthew Toscano and Eduardo Gomez run wild. Toscano scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Gomez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Gomez has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Preciado, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 21-0 to Corona. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Jurupa Hills' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for King, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Jurupa Hills' speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Spartans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for King, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Jurupa Hills continue to outrun the ball?
Jurupa Hills couldn't quite finish off King when the teams last played back in March of 2015 and fell 2-0. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
