The Rowland Hall Winged Lions will head out on the road to take on the Intermountain Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rowland Hall has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while Intermountain Christian will arrive with eight straight wins.
Last Thursday, Rowland Hall came up short against St. Joseph and fell 40-30.
Despite the loss, Rowland Hall had strong showings from Abby Downs, who scored 11 points along with two steals, and Frances Hodson, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Downs has scored all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Intermountain Christian gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 55-29 margin over American Prep WV.
Rowland Hall dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.4 points per game. As for Intermountain Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Rowland Hall might still be hurting after the 44-20 loss they got from Intermountain Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Rowland Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
