The Round Valley Elks's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-35 win over Pinon. The victory was just what Round Valley needed coming off of a 52-27 defeat in their prior game.
Round Valley was led to victory by Addison Poston and Brenli Haws. Poston scored six points along with six steals, while Haws scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haws has scored at least 25% of Round Valley's points.
Aliyah Tsedah and Alysia Mike certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Tsedah scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Mike scored five points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Round Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Pinon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing St. Johns the next time they take the court. Round Valley will host St. Johns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pinon will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
