Skyline is 1-8 against the Longhorns since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Skyline Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Cedar Hill Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Skyline is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Even though Skyline has not done well against the Eagles recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Skyline slipped by the Eagles 50-49.
Skyline's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Naiya Carney, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Lily Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Cedar Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 63-50 to Duncanville. While losing is never fun, Cedar Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked first).
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 15-17. As for Cedar Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 18-13.
Skyline came up short against the Longhorns in their previous matchup back in January, falling 60-56. Can Skyline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
