There's no place like home for the Fort Calhoun Pioneers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-26 victory over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Thursday. Given Fort Calhoun's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Calhoun found their leader in underclassman Ansley Elofson, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maelie Nelson, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Fort Calhoun pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Calhoun will take on Wisner-Pilger on Saturday. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they will head out on the road to face off against Stanton on Saturday.
