Oxford is 0-7 against Naugatuck since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oxford Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Naugatuck Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Oxford is out to stop a 13-game streak of losses at home.
Oxford suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 80-54 walloping at the hands of Seymour.
Meanwhile, Naugatuck fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Torrington on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Raiders 68-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Naugatuck, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Oxford came up short against Naugatuck in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 80-69. Can Oxford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
