The Northside Vikings will head out on the road to  take on  the James River Knights at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Northside is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8  runs per game this season.
 On Friday, Northside earned  a  9-5 win over Glenvar. The  victory was just what Northside needed coming off of  a  12-1 loss in their prior  matchup.
  Evan Bruce made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned run or  hits. Bruce was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  John Doak was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Aries Oliver was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 James River can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  on Thursday. They skirted past Floyd County  3-2. The  win was just what James River needed coming off of  a  12-0 defeat in their prior  game.
 Northside's record now sits at 5-2. As for James River, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-7.
 Everything went Northside's way against James River in their previous matchup  back in March as Northside made off with  an  11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
